I went to Wal-Mart and bought some Matchbox Cars. Tyler was really excited. I told him he can choose a car when he potties on the potty seat. He really wanted cars. He would stop what he was doing and run for the bathroom. He would sit down and chant, "car, car, car." He wanted to do well, it just didn't work. We were visiting the potty every 15 minutes the entire day, and still, he would go in his pants shortly after sitting on the potty for 5+ minutes.
What an un-fun week it has been. I'm curious to see how things go on Saturday with Daddy home. I'm already thinking Sunday will be a wash since he'll be at church all morning. He's not to the point of announcing when he has to go, so know one in the nursery will even know he's potty-training.
Another week like this one, and I will seriously be considering that other option known as postponing.

I'd definitely give it another week - just do like you have been - patient and calm. You know you can't force it, and you certainly don't want a battle. Tyler seems to be in good spirits though - not fighting the potty very much, so that is a good sign.
Sometimes some input from Daddy is very helpful. I'm praying for you to have patience with your little man. It is SO HARD!! You aren't alone in being frustrated with potty training!! :)
Have you tried reading books while he's sitting on the potty? It helped keep Caroline on there longer.
Oh, and about "announcing" they need to go potty. Caroline didn't get good at that until I buckled down and "finished" potty training her after Charlotte was born (2 1/2 years old).
It can be a long process. You are doing a great job. I'm so glad he's had some successes this week even though it didn't totally go to plan.
PS. They have potty training stickers when you drop them off at church.
