I have never been more excited about poop than I am tonight. Tyler McDow Perry went poo poo in the potty for the first time, and I could not be more proud of him! I was so happy, I almost took a picture of it, but Todd convinced me that would not be a pretty picture. Instead, I wrote the event on my calendar so that I can remember it always.
And you should know, this comes after he had already gone potty on his seat earlier this afternoon!
And you should know, this comes after a week of NOT going potty or poo poo where he was supposed to be going potty and poo poo.

Week 2 is looking up, my friends. I have discovered the secret. Tyler prefers going in private. It occurred to me today, that he is most successful when I step out of the bathroom to get something. When I return, there he is doing his thing. So, Todd and I tested the theory tonight, before bed. We told him we would be right back, and then we stood outside the door and listened as he read to himself about Joshua's new potty seat in Once Upon A Potty. Then we continued to listen as the little grunting noises started. And you know the rest! Mommy jumps in clapping and screaming.
All those times I sat beside him, keeping him company on his little potty seat, he actually preferred to be alone. I will further test this theory tomorrow. I'll keep you posted!

Yay!! I laughed out loud at your post... you are such a cute mommy.
Finally some encouragement!! I'm so proud of you and Tyler!! Hopefully you can remember that if things get tough this week. I'm praying for you!

Yea!!! We had poo poo today too, only it was not so much in the potty as it was in his undies! ;) Nate likes to go in private too, I find things to be messier that way, but pick your battles right? ;)
