Since we will be putting our house on the market in just a couple more weeks, Todd thought it would be a good idea to make the landscaping look better. If the people don't like how the outside of the house looks, they won't take the time to see the inside! It seems sad to spend so much time on something you won't be able to enjoy, though. It turned out to be a really fun thing to work on together. Maybe I'll help in the yard more often (during the two weeks a year when it's not too hot and not too cold)! Tyler loved the opportunity to play around in rocks and dirt. He wanted to do everything Daddy was doing. It was so fun to watch. We're usually telling him not to get in the landscaping, so he was just tickled that he was actually playing around in forbidden territory.
The landscaping is a two phase process. This weekend, we took out all of the rocks so Todd could put those weed guard things underneath and then put the rocks back on. It definitely looks nicer without all the teeny tiny weeds poking out everywhere. Next weekend we get to put new mulch in the beds and add flowers. That's the part I'm most looking forward to because it will look so nice with new flowers!
On Sunday night, Tyler finally got tired of all the landscaping stuff and decided it was much more fun to run as fast as he could up and down the sidewalk. Meanwhile, Mommy practiced taking action shots. It's fun to make them big and look at his expressions - such joy!

this post made me recall (with a cringe) how i've been noticing weeds poking out of the rocks in my landscaping. maybe i'll tackle that soon. :)
have fun staging your house to sell. :)
I hate pulling weeds, but I love planting flowers. It is always our big spring break project to work in the yard.
I can tell you are getting really good at taking pictures outside!!
Digging in the dirt and rocks and running at full speed...what fun for a little boy. And, he looks so big now. Miss you guys.
