Standing

I have something new to share that doesn't involve food!

Last night I was putting away some laundry in Tyler's room. He was playing on the floor near the basket of clothes. It caught his interest, so he scooted over to it and started putting his fingers through the little holes. Next, he decided to pull himself up on his knees. He's been doing that for awhile, so it wasn't anything unusual. But then, all of a sudden, in one quick movement, he pulled himself all the way up on his feet - all by himself! I was quite amazed at the strength in his little arms. He stood there, smiling at me, obviously proud of his achievement. Then, he realized that he could now reach into the basket, pull out the clothes, and eat them! So much for my neat piles of clean clothes. I wonder what he will get into next. There's so many more possibilities now!

Wow, pulling up before crawling. Hmmm, this reminds me of his father. Just wait till Tyler discovers the pots & pans!

By the way, avacado does sound exotic, but the baby book I was following recommended "liver". I personally do not like it, but thought I'd try it. You can imagine the face Stephanie made (we actually have it on film). Never did it again, so Todd escaped this experience.
Well, you live and learn. I'm just so thankful that my grandson has such a terrific mom who delights in the everyday details and firsts of "our" little baby.
I'm new to the blogging thing, but it is great fun to be able to hear of his precious new adventures...such wonderful memories these postings revive.
