So, yes, I have a lot of catching up to do, but I have to jump ahead and let it be known that the Perrys are finally moving! We have an offer on our house and the buyers want us out by the end of the month! Todd and I have been very busy looking at houses and deciding where we will be moving to in a few short weeks. After an entire Saturday and half of Sunday last weekend, we had it narrowed down to two neighborhoods. One of them I have always loved. It's just one of those places you feel cozy in when you're driving around. It has the trees and the pretty lamp posts, the ducks swimming around in the ponds and the mommy's out on the sidewalks pushing strollers. I like it there. We also found a much newer neighborhood where we can get a new home that has already been started and will be finished by the end of July, right when we happen to need a house! It has all the schools in the neighborhood and it is pretty too. It wasn't the one I had always loved, but it did win out in the end because of the lure of having a brand new, never lived in house. It was was a difficult decision for us. The neat part is that we were able to go to the design center and choose things to go in our new pretty house. It was fun. Hopefully we made good choices. It's hard to know what everything will look like when it's actually in your house.
This is all happening very quickly, it seems. We have one month to be packed and moved. Todd has been spending a lot of time talking to lenders to find the best offer in a short time. It usually takes a whole month to get a loan, so this will be interesting! I find myself being very emotional inside the whirlwind of all that's going on in our life. Yes, I am glad to be moving closer to our friends, our church home, and Todd's office. I am excited to have a new pretty house. On the other hand, I will miss so many things about where I am now. We have been so blessed in this place. Both of my babies came home to this house and learned to walk on these floors. We are so close to Nana and Grandpa. That has been wonderful. Never again will I have an adoring baby sitter just minutes away. And silly as it may sound, I will miss my crown molding and rounded sheetrock corners. I'll miss my arched hallways and living room windows. My new house has a lot of nice things, but not these things. I know they will be missed because I have appreciated them everyday since I have moved in. I will also miss the view out my living room window. We have no neighbors behind us now; only trees swaying in the breeze, flying birds, and lots of noisy frogs that like to poop on our windows (the frogs will not be missed). I have spent a lot of mornings rocking my babies, looking out those windows and just watching the trees move back and forth.
Our little sand box in the backyard will not be coming with us. It is true that Tyler never really uses it and that it is a very messy activity. However, I remember itty-bitty Tyler playing in it with his little bare feet and his sun hat 3 summers ago when we got it. That makes it hard to leave behind. I could go on about all my memories and things that will not be forgotten in this place, but I'm not going to right now. I choose to look forward to what God has planned for us in our new place. We will make new memories and my babies will learn to walk on something very new to them - stairs. Tyler is very excited about stairs. He says it is like having two houses, one on the top and one on the bottom. I am so thankful that he is excited about his new home.
Of course, our move will not be official until we close at the end of the month. Please pray that everything goes smoothly in that area. We are walking by faith and trusting in the One who already has this all planned out for us.

Michelle - if the lender doesn't think they can close within the month you can always try getting a bridge loan. The bank I worked for did that on occassion (typically they are smaller banks). It's won't be a 30yr mortgage, but it would buy you some time while waiting for the mortgage loan to process. Just a thought to consider. So glad to hear your house has sold and you've found one your excited about!
