Sweet Allie is officially 6 months old today.

She is tall and thin, like a little super model.
weight: 14 lbs. 10 ounces - 25th percentile
length: 26 3/4 inches - 90th percentile
head circ: 42 cm - 25-50 percentile (How can they have a percentile range?)

We haven't started our adventure into solid foods yet because I want to wait until we get back from our road trip to Kansas. Todd, Allie, and I will be driving to Kansas and back for a wedding in a couple of weeks, and I don't want the hassle of bringing baby food. It's much easier to stick to the nursing. I do think that Allie is looking forward to trying out the big girl foods though. She looks at us longingly when we eat, and she has been making chewing motions with her little mouth while she sits in her high chair during meal times.

This little girl has been so easy these days. She naps well, eats well, and stays happy almost all of the time. I am enjoying this age. She can't move around and find trouble and she is content to play on the floor, as long as she can sit up. Laying down is a thing of the past. Now that she knows how to sit, Allie would much rather be sitting up to do everything. When I do lay her down, she does little crunches as if she is actually planning to sit back up all on her own. She even tries to sit back up when I'm changing her diaper. I am jealous of her ab muscles.

We all enjoy watching her personality come out more and more all the time. Tyler likes that she can sit up and play next to him. She will talk to him and reach out to take the things he hands to her. He will also reach out and take things from her, too (whether she wants him to or not).
Yesterday I gave the two of them a ride in the laundry basket. They sat side by side, giggling and squealing together as they slid down the hall. It was one of those sweet moments I cherish. I love knowing that this kind of fun is only just beginning.

It's sad that she is already 6 months old and growing so fast, but it is so wonderful to watch her become more beautiful everyday.
Happy Half Birthday Allison!
