A Fun Birthday Weekend

Tyler's Birthday was great. I really enjoyed celebrating it with him, with Todd, with family, and friends. He seemed to enjoy all the festivities too, especially the cupcakes!!


On Friday, his actual birthday, Todd took the day off of work so he could spend it with Tyler (and me). We took Tyler to the zoo. He was so interested in everything. It was actually surprising at how attentive he was. We could point to something and he would look and say, "oooooh!" It was a pretty day for the zoo, especially after the sun came out and it warmed up a little bit.
Nana and Grandpa came over to open presents and eat cupcakes. Tyler was really into present opening. His looks of anticipation were the best.




Then we gave him his first cupcake, which was also his first sugar experience. He took one bite of the top, then flipped it over and ate the rest of it upside down! Maybe the icing was too strong all at once. It was very cute and very messy!



Saturday was party day! Tyler's friends came over for lunch. We had to open presents quickly because there were a lot, and we didn't want all the babies to get bored watching! Tyler enjoyed the cards as much as the gifts. He still carries them around and plays with them. Then it was time for a cupcake again! This time he ate it right side up. Good thing he had a practice one the day before. He must have figured it out. What a fun time. Thank you for sharing Tyler's special day with us!

And, I have to say, he is still getting cuter. So, he is even cuter as a one year old then he was as an infant! I should have known.
