18 months

Our little princess is 18 months old. Another big milestone!

At a year and a half she seems so grown up.
She can eat pretty much anything, brush her own teeth, put her shoes away and get them out, climb up and down the stairs, pick up toys, color with crayons, and make her baby lots of yummy food in the play kitchen.

She loves to give kisses and uses the "ba" sound, rather then "mwaaa."
She follows directions so well and understands everything we tell her to do. She also has a fun time telling us long sentences of baby babble of which we can't understand. It is really funny to listen to though!
Allie has pretty much an entire mouthful of teeth. She is only missing two canine teeth and I'm sure they will be popping through any day now.
She still takes one of her blankets wherever she goes and usually needs two of them to sleep at night or take naps with.
She has a harder time falling asleep at night and usually cries for a little while before we don't hear her anymore.

My Allie is a girlie girl. She loves wearing bracelets and will turn pretty much anything into a bracelet, including Mr. Potato head's eye patch. She loves standing on her bathroom stool and watching Mommy fix her hair. (Mommy loves this equally as much, if not more.) And while she is happy to play with all sorts of toys, her Baby is still her most favorite toy. I am looking forward to picking out some new things for Baby at Christmas time. She could definitely use a crib and a high chair.

Tyler has been busy trying to teach her to talk. I will often hear him saying, "Allie, can you say ------? Good job Allie." He will do this over and over with all kinds of funny words, both real and made up. And of course, Allie will pretty much do or say anything her big brother wants her to do.

Allie also enjoys throwing things away in the trash can. Thankfully, she hasn't thrown out anything important, yet, but she is always looking for paper or any tiny speck to throw away. Lucky for her we have a dog who drags all kinds of dirt pieces into the house. Tyler gets his feelings hurt when he draws a picture for Allie and gives it to her. She promptly takes it to the trash can and throws it away!

I love this baby girl more than words can say. And yes, she is definitely still my baby.

Wonderful post Michelle. Allie is just so sweet and one can tell how much you enjoy and love her. I went back and read once again the beautiful words you posted on Tyler's 18th month birthday (11/14/08). They grow so quickly, don't they? I am so thankful God has blessed you (and us!) with those sweet, sweet babies.
