7 Months

Allie is 7 months old today!

She has been EXTRA snuggly with Mommy and Mommy is LOVING IT!
She will lay her head down on my shoulder and snuggle her head in. We have spent a lot of time just cuddling in the rocking chair. This has been a treat that I didn't expect. May this phase never end.

With Daddy she likes to talk in her "dinosaur voice." She sounds like she's roaring. It's not very girlie and the funny thing is that she does it most when Todd is around. I will catch her going all day without using the voice and as soon as Todd comes in at night, she starts up. It's pretty funny. He feels very special that Allie has her own voice just for talking with him.

She is trying out more foods, but still prefers the veggies and fruit over the rice cereal. I don't blame her. I can get her to eat it when I mix the good stuff in with the cereal.

Still not a lot of movement going on this month. Allie is happy where you put her, with no interest in rolling around to explore. Such a difference from Tyler at this age!

We found out that she loves sitting in Tyler's bed. She gets really excited and lets out little squeals. It must be the bright colored sheets. Or maybe she just knows that it's her brother's bed and that makes it extra cool.

Allie got to take a bath in the big bath tub with Tyler last Saturday. She loved it. This girl really enjoys water. I think she probably thought she was in a swimming pool. What fun it was to splash and kick and play with all the toys! I still bathe her in her counter top bathtub most of the time, but I will have to permanently switch pretty soon. There is way too much splashing going on and it is becoming more and more messy with every bath.

I have been happy with her schedule. She wakes up at 6:30, naps from 9-11, 1:30-3:00, and then again from 5-6 (great for making dinner). This way she is able to stay up till 8 or 8:30 and spend a little more time with Daddy in the evenings before getting too tired. It seems like a lot of sleeping for a 7 month old, but I am not going to complain about that. I'll take it while it lasts!

I probably said the same thing last month, but she just keeps getting easier and easier. This little girl is a huge joy and is the cause of me crying happy tears at least once a day. I love her so, so much!

We just put the baby tub inside the big bathtub. That way you don't have to use as much water as with the big tub, but splashing isn't a big deal. :)
