This was our first year to actually "do" Halloween with Tyler. I didn't think he would really care much about it the last two years, but I knew this year he would really get into it all. He did! We went to Grandma and Papa Perry's house for all the festivities. They live in the country just a little bit, so instead of walking door to door, the kids get to hop on one of several trailers and go on a hayride! When the trailer stops, they all jump off and run to the houses to get the candy. Then they jump on and ride to the next house. It was such a fun way to go trick-or-treating!
Tyler made an adorable Winnie-the-Pooh. He was excited to get candy in his pumpkin bucket. The only candy he actually cared about keeping was the lollipops (Dum-dums). You see, the only candy Tyler has ever had in his little life has been a tiny Dum-dum from a doctor's office. So whenever he thinks of candy, his lollipop comes right to mind. When he found out he would be getting candy, all he could talk about was how excited he was to get a lollipop. Mommy and Daddy are happy to help out with all the other unwanted candy.
He did a really good job of saying thank-you, and he quickly learned the drill of jumping of the trailer as soon as it stopped. He would then want to check his pumpkin bucket immediately to check out the new prize inside. Each piece that went in was promptly examined by our little Pooh bear. The only time he didn't want to get off the hayride was when it pulled up in front of some people with scary masks on. Tyler took one look and said, "Tyler not get out here."
So Tyler's first Halloween experience was a hit. He's still talking about it. The weather couldn't have been nicer, and I love the hayride. I think Halloween at Grandma and Papa's house is going to have to be an annual thing!

He decided to "smile" for this one, although it looks like we asked him to make a scary face!

That is one adorable little Pooh Bear! So glad you all had fun. I'll bet Grandma and Papa enjoyed it as much as you did.
Tyler, Nana doesn't like the scary masks either. I think everyone should be Pooh Bears although no one would be as cute as you.
