A Fun Fourth

Our neighborhood had a neat 4th of July celebration. I enjoyed every minute of the day with my cute little family. First, we watched the parade. Tyler was most excited about any and all the "doggies" he could spot in the parade and on the sidelines. They were especially cute in their red, white, and blue bows. One of Tyler's favorite words these days is "doggie," and he gets so happy when he can point one out to everyone around.

After the parade, Tyler got to experience his first petting zoo. He was so cute to watch. He pet all the animals and watched them closely. I love it when he gets excited about something new and he looks up at me every few minutes to make sure that I see how cool it is too! He, of course, thought that all the animals were doggies - the llama, the ducks, the donkey, the pig, the bunnies, the goats, the wallaby - all doggies. We will have to work on this.

They had pony rides, but after we saw the line we decided Tyler wouldn't enjoy the pony rides, and we would wait until next year. We went to the BBQ line and got our free lunch (woo-hoo!) next. It was a long line too, but Tyler was so sweet and so patient. It was fun just watching all the patriotic families walking around together and enjoying themselves. I actually felt like I was on a movie set. It's just what you would imagine a July 4th picnic to look like. We found a little picnic table and enjoyed our lunch together. Before we headed home, Tyler got a balloon animal. It had to be a doggie! It was one of those days that I know I will remember for a long, long time. Such sweet memories.

Those pictures are so cute, Michelle. I actually like the ones you take as much, if not more than, the ones from the photographer.
