Helping Daddy, Mommy's Birthday, and Everyday Cuteness

It occurred to me that I have been "Going on 30" for 2 weeks now and it's time to move on...

Tyler has been Daddy's little helper in getting ready for his sister. After painting, Todd took on the task of putting the chair rail up in the nursery. Tyler was right there by his side every step of the way. He brings in his own tools and mimics everything his Daddy is doing. It's so cute.

Even his little feet are crossed just like Daddy!
I got a little nervous when Todd was using sand paper on the nail holes before he filled them, and Tyler decided that he needed sand paper as well. Luckily, Daddy is very smart and gave Tyler a block of wood along with his sand paper so he wouldn't feel the need to use it on the newly painted walls and chair rail.

My Birthday and Birthday weekend were really fun. I spent my actual birthday shopping with two of my favorite people, Tyler and Nana. We had a yummy lunch and Nana even brought over balloons, cake, and flowers in true birthday tradition. Over the weekend, Todd treated me to a Babymoon/Birthday/early Valentine's vacation in the Woodlands. I got to eat great food, shop all day Saturday, stay at the Woodland's Waterway Resort, eat great food, walk along the waterway with my Sweetie, eat more great food, and sleep in. Then I got to shop a little more before heading home on Sunday. It was my kind of weekend. I got some cute things to pull Allie's nursery together and I got to spend really good quality time with Todd. It couldn't have been better.

I love that my mommy still makes birthday cakes for me even when I'm 30!

Allie celebrated, too. She got her own party hat.
Tyler continues to get cuter and funnier everyday. Just the other night he decided that he was a waiter and could carry food from his kitchen to the table in his playroom. The food wouldn't stay on the tray for him, so he just walked back and forth with the tray instead. It was especially interesting to me because we really never eat out at places with him where he would see a waiter serving him. I guess the one or two times he experienced it, it really stuck with him!

He enjoys talking to Allie and is constantly asking me if she's awake. When he does something fun or something he's especially proud of, he will inform me that he plans to teach his sister how to do that too. He also puts his stuffed animals in all of the baby stuff we have pulled out, such as the infant carseat, the bouncer, and the Jumperoo. He says he has to check it out for Allie. Then he tells me, "it works good." What a great big brother - already taking such good care of his new sister.

That's all sooo cute.

I especially like the crossed feet picture - how did you ever notice that they were both doing that. And the party hat on your belly.
